Summary

Tom began in the industry as Producer’s Assistant to Rob Tapert on ‘Spartacus’, and later Director’s Assistant to Fede Alvarez on ‘Evil Dead’ (2013). During that time he wrote and directed the 48 Hour National Winning film, ‘The Child Jumpers’, as well as ‘Mi Amigo Mandarina’, which was nominated for best short film at the 2015 New Zealand Film Awards.

As a stand up comedian and television comedy writer, Tom has been twice nominated for Billy T Award, and has writing credits that include Head Writer on ‘Jono and Ben’ and ‘7 Days’. Further television credits include an episode of Power Rangers: Beast Morphers.

In 2019 Tom had two scripts place in the Quarterfinals of the 2019 Nicholls Academy screenwriting contest. One of those scripts, ‘The Mountain’ is currently in paid development with Piki Films, and has just received Production Financing from the NZ Film Commission, and will go into production in late 2021.

Tom has two further scripts in paid development with Producer Luke Sharpe, and Nick Garrett at Fish Films.

Tom currently work sas television and commercial director, with most recent television credits including ‘Taskmaster NZ’, ‘New Zealand Today’, and ‘Golden Boy.'
