Brooke is an Olympian, Speaker, Mentor and Founder of the "All About Balance" Initiative.
Since her debut for the NZ Women's Black Sticks in 2013, Brooke has become one of New Zealand's most effective defenders, and has since notched up her 100th game for New Zealand after competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
While her hockey career was flourishing, Brooke also knew it was important to have academic qualifications. She was awarded the Waikato University Sir Edmund Hilary Scholarship, which sent her to Hamilton in 2011 to study for a Bachelor of Communications degree.
After her team came 4th at the Rio Olympics, Brooke has become an Olympic Ambassador. This sparked her passion for mentoring and speaking to the next wave of high performing teenagers. She is the founder of the ‘All About Balance’ Initiative, which is helping young women juggle their sport, life and books while at high school.
Brooke also speaks at the corporate level and at a range of events. Brooke shares her journey from setbacks to Gold at the Commonwealth Games, and shares insights from the mental health work she's doing with teenage athletes.
